The Science Behind Breast Care Aware
Breast Care Aware is powered by Niramai Thermalytix technology, developed through years of research, clinical validation, and AI innovation focused on breast health screening.
Today, the technology is used in more than 22 countries, including India, Philippines, Zambia, Sweden, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom.
Breast Care Aware is proud to help bring this advanced screening technology to women in the United States through BreasTest and FDA-cleared adjunctive thermal imaging technology.
FDA-Cleared Technology
BreasTest uses FDA-cleared thermal imaging technology as an adjunctive diagnostic tool for thermally significant findings in the breast region.
The technology is designed to support breast health monitoring alongside physician evaluation and any recommended follow-up imaging or testing.
Advanced AI Development
The artificial intelligence system behind Niramai has been trained and validated to identify subtle thermal patterns and vascular changes that may require further medical attention.
By analyzing large datasets of thermal images, the AI provides a more data-driven and consistent assessment process to support healthcare professionals.
Clinical Validation
Multiple clinical studies and ongoing research have explored the role of AI-supported thermal imaging in breast health assessment, particularly for younger women and women with dense breast tissue.
The technology continues to be studied as part of broader efforts to improve comfort, accessibility, and early awareness in breast health screening.
Our Commitment to Women’s Health
At Breast Care Aware, we believe every woman deserves access to breast health screening that feels comfortable, respectful, and accessible—regardless of age.
BreasTest was created to help address the gap many younger women experience before traditional screening typically begins. Our goal is to provide women with more information about their breast health earlier in life through safe and non-invasive technology.
Our team brings together professionals in women’s health, artificial intelligence, and medical technology, all working toward the same mission: improving access to modern breast health screening experiences.
The Origin of the Technology
Dr. Geetha Manjunath, founder of Niramai, has spoken internationally about the role AI-powered thermal imaging can play in expanding access to breast health screening around the world.
Today, Niramai technology is available in multiple countries, including regions across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Through Breast Care Aware and BreasTest, this technology is now becoming more accessible to women in the United States as well.
Dr. Geetha at the United Nations
In 2023, Dr. Geetha Manjunath addressed the United Nations General Assembly, where she discussed the importance of privacy-focused, AI-supported healthcare technology and the need to improve access to women’s health solutions globally.
Her message focused on innovation, accessibility, and supporting women through more inclusive healthcare technologies.
Looking Ahead
Breast Care Aware continues to support conversations around expanding access to women’s health screening and improving awareness through innovation, education, and community outreach.
The long-term vision is to help make modern breast health monitoring more comfortable and accessible for women everywhere.

Your Visit: Patient Preparation Guide
Preparing for Your Private, No-Touch Screening
To help ensure the most accurate thermal imaging results, your body should be at a natural resting temperature before the screening.
Please review the following guidelines before your appointment.
24 Hours Before Your Appointment
Avoid Sun Exposure or Skin Irritation
Please avoid sunburns, tanning beds, or activities that may irritate the skin on the chest or breast area.
Monitor Your Health
If you develop a fever, rash, skin infection, or illness before your appointment, please contact the clinic to discuss rescheduling.
The Day of Your Appointment
Avoid Lotions and Deodorants
Do not apply deodorants, antiperspirants, lotions, powders, creams, or perfumes to the breast or underarm area before your appointment, as these may affect thermal imaging results.
Avoid Vigorous Exercise
Please avoid intense physical activity for at least 3 hours before your screening.
Limit Caffeine and Tobacco
To help maintain stable skin temperature and circulation, avoid caffeine and tobacco for at least 2 hours before your appointment.
Wear Comfortable Clothing
We recommend wearing a loose-fitting two-piece outfit for convenience during the screening process.
During Your Screening
A Simple 15-Minute Process
Temperature Stabilization
When you arrive, you will spend approximately 5–10 minutes in a private temperature-controlled room. This allows your body temperature to adjust naturally before imaging begins.
The Thermal Scan
You will remain seated comfortably in a private screening space while the technician operates the FLIR E76 thermal imaging system from a respectful distance.
Completely No-Touch
There is no physical contact during the process. You will simply follow basic positioning instructions so the system can capture a complete thermal image.
Secure Results
Your thermal images are securely encrypted and processed through the Niramai AI analysis system. A detailed report is then generated and reviewed by qualified professionals.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
Photo Identification
Please bring a valid government-issued ID, passport, or national identification card.
Previous Breast Imaging Reports
If you have recent mammogram or ultrasound reports, bringing them may help provide additional context for your healthcare team.
Your Questions
We encourage you to ask questions about the technology, the process, or the broader ECO Health vision behind the initiative.
